Coquitlam resident granted spot on Team BC due to scheduling conflict

Richmond, British Columbia (BRITISH COLUMBIA GOLF)-Jisoo Keel of Coquitlam and member of Team Canada, has been granted a roster spot on Team British Columbia for the 2012 Royale Cup Canadian Junior Girls’ Championship being held River Spirit Golf Club in Calgary, Alberta from July 31-August 3 2012.

Due to scheduling commitments associated with Team Canada, Keel will not be able to compete at the British Columbia Junior Girls’ Championship to be held at Osoyoos Golf and Country Club on July 10-13 2012. Typically, the top-3 performers from the B.C. Junior Girls’ are granted a representative position on Team BC.

The decision to grant Keel a roster spot was made by the Board of Directors of British Columbia Golf based on her past representation, successes and her continued dedication and eagerness to represent British Columbia on the national stage.

Keel finished 2nd at the 2011 B.C. Junior Girls’ Championship, going on to finish T2nd individually and 1st as a member of Team BC at the 2011 Royale Cup Canadian Junior Girls’. She has been competing as a representative for British Columbia, in various capacities, since she was 9-years-old.

As a result of the roster exemption given to Keel, the individual who finishes 3rd at the B.C. Junior Girls’ Championship will be provided with a subsidy to attend nationals equal to that of being a member of Team BC.
