New By-Laws Overwhelmingly Adopted by Membership
Richmond, British Columbia (BRITISH COLUMBIA GOLF)- British Columbia Golf is pleased to announce that following an extraordinary meeting of its membership on Saturday, October 27th at Quilchena G&CC, the adoption of a new set of By-Laws was overwhelmingly accepted by its membership.
Prior to the extraordinary meeting, two members of a newly created Zone Council were announced as Sechelt’s Helen Steeves and Fort St. John’s Jim McKinnon. Both were selected by way of an election that took place at a meeting of British Columbia Golf’s Board of Directors on Friday, October 26, 2012. Steeves was awarded the position of Zone Council Chair while McKinnon will hold the other seat as the Zone Council Representative.
Moving forward, the current transition Board of Directors of British Columbia Golf will remain in place while a Nominating Committee is formulated. Once the Committee has been instituted, the search will begin for qualified Board members to replace the transition Board. The exact timeline for the creation of the Nominating Committee has not been determined to date.
