PGA of British Columbia Mourns Loss of Herb Paterson

Paterson3

RICHMOND, BC (February 25, 2015) - It is with great sadness that the PGA of British Columbia informs our friends of the passing of Mr. Herb Paterson.

An Honourary Member of the PGA of Canada, Mr. Paterson passed away at the North Shore Hospice Society in North Vancouver last evening at 10pm, only days after celebrating his 90th Birthday.

He was responsible for bringing Titleist equipment to Canada in 1957 and was the inaugural recipient of the PGA of BC's Lifetime Achievement Award (2001). Mr. Paterson was also key in the development of the Predator Ridge Golf Resort, working with famed Golf Course Architect Les Furber to open its doors to golfers in June of 1991.

A celebration of Life for Mr. Paterson is currently in the planning stages and will likely take place in the Lower Mainland. Once details become available, the Association will pass along the information to Members, friends and patrons. The PGA of BC is also in the midst of finalizing  an avenue to honour the Great Man, which will be announced in the very near future.
