Ricky Castillo of Yorba Linda, California, won the 18th annual AJGA Winn Grips Heather Farr Classic hosted by Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona in a three-man sudden-death playoff.

Castillo defeated overnight leader, Jaewook Lee, of Langley, British Columbia, and Brock Goyen of Gilbert, Arizona, to claim his first AJGA victory since the 2015 BBCN Bank Junior All-Star.

Lee carded rounds of 66-68-74 - 208. Team Canada Development Squad member A.J. Ewart of Coquitlam, BC, carded eighteen pars en-route to a final round 71. Ewart’s 71-67-71—209 four-under-par total earned a T4 finish, narrowly missing the playoff by one stroke.

Ewart had a great chance to join the playoff when he hit the par 5 18th hole in two, leaving himself some 30 feet for eagle and the outright win. Perhaps thinking win and being slightly aggressive he ran that putt 10 feet by the hole from up the crest of a hill.

When he missed the birdie putt coming back he had to settle for a par but still had an outstanding tournament in recording his 3rd top five finish in an AJGA event, including last fall's win at the Sunriver Junior Open.

Fellow Canadian James Song was also in action at Longbow, posting a 77-69-71 (+4) to finish T22. Development Squad teammate Jack Simpson of Aurora, Ont., missed the cut after struggling with scores of 71 and 78. Surrey, B.C.'s  Khan Lee also missed the cut shooting scores of 77-75=152
