• Video: The Only Free Golf Course in the World?

This is one of the most upbeat and inspiring videos we've seen in a while. Erik Anders Lang, who does the 'Adventures In Golf' Vlog for Skratch, visited Buhl Park GC in Pittsburgh, PA and discovered a 9-hole golf course with a very rare twist. It's free.

There's a fascinating story behind this course with no green fees or tee times and Lang does a great job of delving into and updating that story with several of the people who frequent the layout, have played it for years and make up the unique community brought together through golf in this region.

  • 72-Year-Old Plays 108 Rounds Over 96 Days Across 48 States

    By JORDAN SCHWARTZ, USGA

When Nick Karnazes, then age 72, told his cardiologist about his plan to play 96 rounds of golf over 96 days across the 48 contiguous United States, he was warned that he might be coming home in a pine box.

“No one lives forever,” Karnazes, now 82, told his doctor at the time, fully aware that he was a candidate for heart surgery. “I have a daughter in heaven, so if something happened to me, I’d be with her. I had already mailed out letters to all the courses. I love golf. I’m going on the trip.”

Karnazes began doing some research and found that 18 people had played 48 rounds in 48 states, but no one had played two rounds in each state over 96 days. While others had circuited the country in small planes, Karnazes drove – mostly by himself – from one tee time to the next in an RV.

Dubbed “The Happy Golfer” by Callaway, the brand supplied him with clubs, balls, and apparel.

  • A World-Class Golf Destination Emerges In Missouri’s Ozark Mountains

By Brad Ziemer, British Columbia Golf

RIDGEDALE, Mo. -- His business is all about hunting and fishing, so it seems a tad surprising that Johnny Morris is intent on turning this community in the Ozark Mountains of southwest Missouri into a world-class golf destination.

Morris, the founder of the Bass Pro Shops outdoors chain, is much more comfortable with a fly rod in his hand than a five-iron. But instead of fish, Morris has landed some of golf’s biggest names to design five courses near his renowned Big Cedar Lodge wilderness resort.

How is this for a list? Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Gary Player, Bill Coore-Ben Crenshaw and -- drum roll, please -- Tiger Woods, whose Payne’s Valley layout is scheduled to open in 2019.

  • Southern Golf Swing A Chance To End Winter's Fast

(Myrtle Beach, South Carolina) - Even though it's had a facelift and a name change, Pine Lakes GC is still a looker.

Originally known as Ocean Forest Hotel & CC, the first golf course in this area where more than 100 tracks line the area, Pine Lakes went under the surgeon's knife in the early 2000s to become a fun course where you don't necessarily have to hit it long. From the back deck it measures out at just over 6,600 yards, however that is countered somewhat by the fact it's at sea level.

Well, OK, the elevation is about 30 feet but in this game, what's 10 yards here and there?

  • Ambiente GC Offers A Breath Of Fresh Air In Arizona

    by Jim Claggett

Golf courses, for the most part, can be viewed as works in progress.

There always seems to be something which can be changed from the original design in order to improve the look or simply to keep up with technology as players continue to hit the ball further and sometimes straighter.

  • Las Sendas: A Phoenix Rising
