British Columbia Golf Supports Bell 'Let's Talk' Day

Bell Let’s Talk Day 2020

On January 29th, Bell will donate five cents to Canadian mental health for every text message and mobile and long distance call made by a Bell, Bell Cause pour la cause, Bell MTS or Bell Aliant customer, tweet using #BellLetsTalk, view of the Bell Let’s Talk video on Twitter, FacebookInstagram, Snapchat and YouTube, and use of the Bell Let’s Talk Facebook frame or Snapchat filter.

Background

Bell Let’s Talk is a campaign dedicated to moving mental health forward in Canada. The strategy is built on four pillars: anti-stigma, improving access to care, supporting world-class research, and leading by example in workplace mental health.

Bell Let’s Talk is not only changing the landscape of mental health funding in Canada, but is also contributing to changes in attitudes and behaviours. 85% of Canadians think attitudes about mental health have changed for the better in the past 5 years, and 75% believe the stigma around mental illness has been reduced.

With the help of Canadians and people around the world, Bell Let’s Talk Day has now surpassed 1 billion messages of support sent and over $100 million in Bell funding towards mental health.

Engagement ideas – every action counts!

All throughout January, we encourage you to join the campaign and take action to help create positive change for Canadians who live with mental illness. On Bell Let’s Talk Day, join in to help drive Bell donations so that more Canadians can access the mental health support they need:

  • Join the conversation on social media with your own content or share messaging from our Bell Let’s Talk accounts
  • Promote and utilize resources in our online toolkit, which includes a conversation guide, talk bubbles, digital ads, an email signature, and more
  • Encourage your employees and network to consider what they are doing to join in and help create positive change. Share your own actions on social media using #BellLetsTalk to inspire others

Mental Health: Every Action Counts

The theme of this year’s campaign is Mental Health: Every Action Counts. Mental illness affects Canadians of all ages and from all walks of life. While research shows the stigma around mental illness is reducing, there is still work to be done to ensure all Canadians have access to the mental health support they need. That is why we are expanding the focus of Bell Let’s Talk Day beyond anti-stigma alone to include the actions, large and small, that we can all take to help create positive change for people living with mental health issues.

We invite you to join the conversation on Bell Let’s Talk Day, January 29 to help create positive change!
