Rules Of Handicapping Education Opportunities From Golf Canada

As the golf season begins to wind down across Canada, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the educational opportunities available to you as a Golf Canada member.

RULES OF HANDICAPPING
With the release of the World Handicapping System (WHS) in January, it is important to understand the changes and how it impacts you – the golfer!

For those that are interested in learning more about the World Handicapping System, we have created an online presentation that highlights the major changes to the Rules of Handicapping.

By comparing the WHS to the previous system and providing the rationale for the change, Golf Canada members will have a better understanding and will feel confident as they continue to post scores and maintain their Handicap Index.

If you are a member of your club Handicap Committee or passionate to learn more, Golf Canada also offers FREE online Handicap Certification. A series of videos will guide you through the Rules of Handicapping, with a short quiz afterwards that will test your knowledge.

RULES OF GOLF
In addition to publishing the Rules of Golf, Golf Canada is committed to training and educating all golfers on the Rules. With the introduction of the Modernized Rules in 2019, Golf Canada adopted the R&A’s Rules Education program, consisting of three-tiers. Level 1 is the introductory level, with separate programming available for those interested in becoming certified at the Provincial and National levels.
