The Junior Skills event at Northview G&CC was a huge success this year. A total of 29 kids (23 boys and 6 girls) between the ages of 8 and 18 competed in driving, chipping, and putting on a beautiful July summer day in BC....

All the kids appeared to really enjoy themsevles and have a great time. It was wonderful to see that at the start, while many were quite shy, by the end of the day they were encouraging each other along.

There was even a putting playoff for the second place prize in the boys 12 – 14 division and both players showed incredible sportsmanship applauding each other’s successful putts.

Two of the bigger highlights of the event:

  • Changbeen Choi’s winning score of 260 in the boys 9 – 11 division. Not confirmed yet, but looking at the National Leaderboard this should qualify him for the finals
  • Dylan Pandher’s (age 11) chip-in at the chipping station
