• Women with Drive - Get in the Game

    The 'Women with Drive Workshop' is being held at Fairwind Golf Course on August 28th in Nanoose Bay.

    Women with Drive is a workshop series for business women interested in utilizing golf as a business tool, to leverage their career success. The workshop will provide women with the skills and confidence to "Get in the Game" No experience necessary and no membership required to register for the workshop. 

    Instruction will be provided by three top level intructors in Hélène Delisle, PGA of Canada Class “A” member and Head of Instruction at Fairwinds, Jody Jackson, LPGA T & CP - Class A and Sue Maltby, a member of the Fairwinds team who has been instructing for 18 years.

  • Volunteers Urgently Required For CP Women's Open At Vancouver Golf Club

    The CP Canadian Women’s open is taking place at the Vancouver Golf Club this August 20 to 23 and there is a need for Volunteer Course Marshals.

    We are inviting groups to participate in marshalling a portion or an entire hole during the tournament.

    The Canadian Women’s Open Championship is one of the ultimate tournaments for the members of the LPGA Tour as it always draws the top 100 players in the world. Volunteers will have an opportunity to get close up to the world’s best women golfers.

    It’s been eight years since John Gallacher first won the British Columbia Golf Senior Championship and that drought came to an end Thursday when he beat Doug Roxburgh by four strokes for his second senior’s title at Swan-e-Set Bay Resort.

    On a day when no under-par rounds were recorded during Round 2 of the British Columbia Golf Senior and Super Senior Championships at Swan-e-Set Bay Resort in Pitt Meadows, it was the even-par round of 72 that staked The Vancouver Golf Club’s John Gallacher to a three-stroke lead.

    The Burnaby product sits at (-2) 142, three strokes clear of the group at (+1) 145 that includes two-time defending champion Doug Roxburgh, 2012 champion Sandy Harper and Summerland’s Len Filek.

    The 54-hole championship runs until Thursday, with the final round set to begin at 7:30 a.m.

    John Gallacher of Burnaby and Summerland’s Len Filek share the lead at (-2) 70 after Round 1 of the British Columbia Golf Senior and Super Senior Championships at Swan-e-Set Bay Resort in Pitt Meadows. The 54-hole championship runs until Thursday, with Round 2 set to begin at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

    Gallacher, who won the BC Senior Men’s Championship in 2007, started out with a birdie on his opening hole and added five more during his round to go with only four bogeys.

    It’s almost time for the Girls Junior America’s Cup and the British Columbia team of Shirin Anjarwalla, Mary Parsons, Tiegan Taylor and Natalie Chu will be leaving for Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 24.

    The U-17 will be led by non-playing captain Pat Thompson and the team members were given their uniforms after the BC Junior Girls Championship at Cordova Bay in Victoria.

    OLIVER, BC (July 15) - Point Grey Golf & Country Club’s Stu Macdonald made an eagle on his final shot of the day en route to a (-6) round of 66 that has him leading the 113th BC Amateur at Fairview Mountain with a (-9) 135 score.

    Macdonald overhauled first-round co-leader Jared du Toit, who had a second consecutive day of (-4) 68 to sit at (-8) 136. Macdonald had 115 yards to go on the par-4 9th and hit his 54-degree wedge shot to 5 feet and then watched it roll into the cup for a closing eagle.
